SECRO is a company that offers a digital tool that automates and streamlines the circulation of commercial documents, especially maritime bills of lading (shipping documents used in maritime transport that confirm the acceptance of cargo onto a ship and entitle the designated holder to collect the goods).
The SECRO solution enables secure digitization of documents and procedures, which significantly saves time, minimizes errors and delays, and allows for better control of the entire process.
A key aspect is the technology that ensures data protection, which effectively prevents attempts to steal or manipulate data. Cybersecurity is extremely important here—without adequate security measures, key information and contracts could be intercepted or falsified.

Thanks to SECRO, companies can carry out international trade transactions faster and more securely, while maintaining full control and data protection.
Our cooperation with Secro began when the company already had an MVP of its application running in a production environment. However, in order to prepare for a full market rollout and meet stringent security standards and user requirements, it was necessary to scale the infrastructure in various areas of its operation. It was in this process that we provided key support.
Challenge
We faced several challenges. First of all, the infrastructure had to meet extremely rigorous industry standards ISO 27001 and SOC2 Type2, which are of key importance especially for the financial sector and in the context of Singaporean law, which offers the most comprehensive legal basis for this type of activity.
In this area, the infrastructure was also adapted to the requirements of European Union law regarding providers of critical ICT services for regulated financial entities. In addition, the application had to be prepared to handle increased traffic while maintaining the highest security standards, and all this had to be achieved within a commercially reasonable cost framework.
Interestingly, the application is based on a private blockchain (DLT) solution and enables the submission of a secure electronic signature that is fully compliant with the legal requirements for documents that are also negotiable securities.
This solution stands out on the market because it implements the process of digitization and signing contracts in a secure manner that complies with international regulations, while at the same time being very simplified, which greatly facilitates the use of the platform provided by Secro.
Key areas of work:
- Scalability: The application had to be adapted to significantly higher user traffic without increasing infrastructure costs.
- Security: It was necessary to adapt the platform to high industry standards, primarily ISO and SOC2, as well as compliance with legal regulations, including the requirements of Singapore law.
- Product complexity: The application was highly technologically advanced—based on a private blockchain solution with a secure digital signature function, enabling the digitization of securities that also serve as legal contracts.
- Development process: Optimization of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) processes to reduce the time to deliver new versions.
Actions taken by Hostersi
Our cooperation with the client's team has been extremely smooth from the very beginning.
Our specialists quickly got up to speed on a complex project subject to strict confidentiality clauses, which, at the time of writing, also limit the possibility of describing the technologies and solutions used.
In terms of infrastructure, we adapted the AWS environment in accordance with the best practices of the Well-Architected Framework, ensuring not only scalability, but also security and cost optimization.
Thanks to our efforts, the client doubled its data processing capabilities while maintaining its existing infrastructure costs.
What's more, the streamlining of development and implementation processes, including the effective use of CI/CD, reduced the time to deliver a new version of the application to production by approximately 25%.
The results of our work:
- Scaling the AWS infrastructure in accordance with the Well-Architected Framework principles to meet production-level traffic requirements.
- Expanding and extending the infrastructure to comply with ISO and SOC2 standards.
- Optimization of operating costs while maintaining or even doubling traffic processing capacity.
- Streamlining of development processes, which enabled a reduction in production delivery time by approximately 25%.
- Effective support for the client's team through rapid onboarding and substantive cooperation with the Hostersi team.
- Working on a highly confidential and complex platform while complying with all confidentiality clauses – technological details remained confidential.
"Communication with the Hostersi team was excellent from the very beginning. Their specialists quickly got up to speed with our complex and confidential project, and their substantive support and excellent cooperation significantly accelerated our work. As a result, we were able to reduce the delivery time for subsequent versions of the application by approximately 25%, which was extremely important for us in the context of rapid product development and market entry."
– Przemysław Luniewski, Head of Engineering at Secro
Summary
By working with us, the client:
- Doubled its traffic handling capacity while maintaining the same infrastructure costs.
- Reduced the time needed to deploy new application versions by approximately 25%.
- Achieved full infrastructure compliance with international security standards (ISO, SOC2).
- Streamlined operational and development processes, which significantly accelerated application development.
The result of our cooperation is a much more scalable, secure, and internationally compliant platform, ready to operate in regulated markets.
